Sustainability Infographic

A five-week, 20-resource unit that prepares students for your own assessment brief, which stays offline. It combines three reviewed sources with 17 print-ready builds. Students research one sustainability issue, design a digital infographic, and write a rationale.

Unit pack v1 • 20 resources • 5 weeks • Australian spelling

Audit evidence. The audit lists 2 confirmed Sustainability Infographic assets and 17 adjacent candidates. Both confirmed items are Young Change Agents Future of Travel challenges with rights_review, so they are excluded. Only three existing documents are publishable: the Future of Food worksheet pack, the KWEL Chart, and the Visual Language retrieval chart. The task sheet and rationale are school assessment material, so they are not published; this pack prepares students for the assessment instead. It therefore uses 3 reviewed sources and 17 builds rather than padding with irrelevant files.

Before you teach

  • Choose the documentary before Week 1. The pack is text-agnostic, but your task requires a link to the studied documentary.
  • 2040 (2019) is a strong Year 7 option: solutions-focused and Australian. Check your licence before screening.
  • Alternatives include The True Cost, Before the Flood, or a licensed Our Planet episode. Check ratings and permissions.
  • Do not treat any documentary as neutral. Teach whose voices are included, which claims are evidenced, and what is omitted.
  • There is no confirmed usable anchor. Your own task brief is the anchor, and it stays offline.
  • The two confirmed YCA Future of Travel items are excluded: wrong topic and rights_review.
  • The Future of Food pack is an external program resource. Check permission before uploading or reproducing pages.
  • Do not schedule the named student exemplar PDFs. Use only a de-identified model with permission.
  • Follow your school's policy on AI for this task. Do not use chatbots or image generators to make the infographic or the rationale.
  • Your task sheet, marking key, and results stay offline. This pack prepares students; it does not publish assessment material.
  • Normalise US spelling in the Visual Language retrieval chart.
  • Keep the unit in English: audience, purpose, representation, visual communication, and rationale. It is not a Science or Design & Technologies assessment.
  • Require a source line on the infographic and a full source record in your planning.
