Animated Film

A five-week, 25-resource unit built from the resource audit. It combines 18 existing Coraline assets with seven print-ready builds. The builds supply the film-specific layer: film language, adaptation, storyboarding, review, and assessment.

Audit evidence. The audit maps 35 confirmed assets to Animated Film, but 29 are in the Coraline group and six are cross-listed design or advertising resources. The Coraline group is novel-heavy: 23 text-bearing assets and eight visual-only slide decks, with no film-specific model, rubric, assessment, or game. This pack therefore uses 18 reviewed assets and seven builds. The full novel is not scheduled without a rights review.

Before you teach

  • The full novel is not scheduled. Confirm rights before using the text in class.
  • The film is not hosted in the library. Use a licensed copy and check your school's screening arrangements.
  • Seven scheduled slide decks have no extractable text. Review them visually before use; they may be image-only or generated decks.
  • Treat Coraline Gothic Quest, Forging Coraline, Individual vs Swarm, The Bravery Blueprint, The Coraline Blueprint, The Coraline Codex, and The Shadow-Stitcher's Forge as visual-only until checked.
  • Do not schedule Coraline resource links, CORALINE speech TOPICS, the vocal drill cards, or the rhetorical cheat sheet as core film resources.
  • Exclude the Young Change Agents design challenges. They are cross-listed by year level, not by text.
  • Normalise US spelling in the Gothic Lexicon, theme worksheet, essay prep, and workbooks.
  • Use no film stills in student work unless your school has the relevant permissions.
