Why the packet links rather than copies

The public-domain poems and short stories already sit in public source packs. Duplicating them here would create two versions that could drift apart. Linking keeps one authoritative text, keeps the packet compact and makes the copyright position clear. The two novels are in copyright, so the packet discusses their construction without reproducing their language.

Context and critical material

The context summaries are original teaching explanations of commonly taught background: Romanticism and revolution, colonial settlement and the bush myth, the Gothic and the Australian landscape, and speculative fiction and biotechnology. They are written to orient reading, not to substitute for a scholarly history or a peer-reviewed source.

Where a page refers to a critical lens, such as feminist, postcolonial, eco-critical or biopolitical reading, it names the lens as a way of asking questions. It does not present a summary of a specific critic's argument or reproduce a copyrighted critical text.

What is not published

How the pages were checked

Copyright and reuse

The original teaching pages are published under the site's standard copyright notice. If you adapt a page, keep the provenance note and do not add copyrighted material that you do not have permission to publish. The poems and short stories remain in the public domain; the two novels and the film adaptation remain the property of their rights holders.

Maintenance

If a source changes, update this page rather than leaving a stale claim. If a linked packet is reorganised, check that the link still points to the intended section. If a text's copyright status changes, record the change here and adjust the packet accordingly.
