Text and image rights
Teachers should use school-licensed copies of texts and images. When printing a passage for annotation, check that the use falls within the school's licensing agreement or the relevant exception. Link to online sources where possible rather than copying them into a handout.
Currency and review
The packet was prepared for the 2027 Year 8 English course and reviewed in October 2026. It is a general skills resource, not a syllabus document. Teachers should align it with the current curriculum, school policies and the texts chosen for the class.
Generic does not mean neutral. The examples were chosen to model fair, careful reading. Teachers should review them against the school's context and values before use.
