Narrative Beat Sort
A comic page needs a shape, not just a sequence of cool images. Sort these fifteen beats into five story stages, then build a six-panel page from your choices.
How to play
- Cut out the 15 cards.
- Sort them into five stages: opening, inciting incident, rising action, climax, resolution.
- Check the key. Notice that a beat can be moved if you can justify it.
- Choose one beat from each stage and arrange them into a six-panel story. Add one extra beat anywhere.
