Sources and Provenance: Oral Interpretation
This page records what the packet contains, where its ideas come from and what it deliberately leaves out. It is a provenance note, not a full scholarly bibliography.
Rights and privacy. All teaching pages, model scripts, tables and examples are original material written for this packet. No copyrighted play, screenplay, teleplay, transcript, recording, image or PDF is reproduced. Public-domain drama is described or linked rather than copied.

Public-domain caution
Public domain applies to the underlying work, not to every edition. A modern translation, introduction, annotation or critical apparatus may still be in copyright. If you use a school edition, check its copyright and citation requirements separately.
Copyright terms differ between countries. A play that is public domain in Australia may still be protected elsewhere. This packet does not give legal advice; follow your school's copyright guidance.
Performance rights
Reading a scene in class is not the same as staging a public performance. Even a public-domain play may have a copyrighted translation or adaptation. If you plan to perform for an audience beyond the class, check whether performance rights are required and whether the venue or event has its own rules.

How the pages were checked
- Every local link is tested as part of the site build.
- Every page declares Australian English, a viewport, a page title and a description.
- The site is checked with automated accessibility and service-worker tests before publication.
- Original scripts and examples are labelled as original so they are not mistaken for extracts.
- Links and claims are reviewed by hand when the packet is updated.
Using the packet elsewhere
The teaching pages are published under the site's standard copyright notice. If you adapt a page, keep the provenance note and do not add copyrighted material that you do not have permission to publish. Do not present the packet's original scenes as extracts from a published play.
Last reviewed: October 2026. If a source or link changes, update this page rather than leaving a stale claim.
